Message from WNSO UK President:
The world today is guided by information system. As members of the WNSO and well-wishers we are here to share Nepalese students’ views and experiences around the world. Information from one corner of the world can be transmitted to good use at another corner. Our newsletter team has taken this venture to bring it on desk despite their inconveniences.
The WNSO has taken a new leap. The WNSO UK is honoured to have Professor Surya Subedi as its patron. Recently the WNSO UK elected new Executive Committee and has commenced its work. There are more to do, in particular, home work is underway to request the UK government and other agencies to give Nepalese students special scholarships owing to Nepal’s centuries old relation with the UK.
We suggest our friends to concentrate in your studies and at the same time share your ideas, views and experiences for the benefit of other fellow Nepalese students. This newsletter is one of such resources we are providing to further this cause. With each issue, we try to encourage our friends to share your views and experiences. Wherever we go we remain Nepalese, whatever nationality we may hold, we would still remain Nepalese, therefore, to make our presence effective, we need to encourage and show other Nepalese students paths to success. Why we are one of the least minority communities in the UK despite our centuries old relation?
Please take time to peruse the articles published at WNSO. We attempt to give you information about further studies around the world, scholarships, views of our members and some humours and entertainment. We also cover information on current and forthcoming WNSO activities such as WNSO Radio, WNSO Scholarship Programme, etc.
We hope you will find this issue interesting. We also encourage you to send us your comments and feedback as well as your articles to publish in our forthcoming issues.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Global Moderators
Rohit Shahi, Sujita Lamichhane, Chakra Balayar, Sunil Joshi, Dinesh Gautam,
Himal Rai and Bharat Thapa for their hard work in bringing the WNSO to present form. I would again like to thank Professor Subedi for accepting our patronage. I would finally like to thank
you our members and well-wisher for accepting this newsletter. We would be grateful if you could give us your thoughts, as well as any input on topics you would like us to address in future issues.
Thank
you,
-Devendra Singh Shrestha
President, WNSO UK
